
Evan Epstein is an Affiliated Scholar and an Adjunct Professor at UC Law SF. He served as the founding Executive Director of the Center for Business Law between 2020 and 2026.
A recognized corporate governance expert, Evan has advised founders, executives, directors, and investors for over 20 years in Silicon Valley and globally. He has been retained as an expert in corporate governance litigation in the U.S. and abroad, with a particular focus on fiduciary duties of corporate directors. Evan is also the founder of Boardroom Governance, a modern platform for directors, executives, investors, and governance leaders that brings together board education, podcast conversations, newsletter insights, the Boardroom Governance Summit, and advisory work. Previously, he was the Executive Director of the Arthur and Toni Rembe Rock Center for Corporate Governance, a joint initiative of Stanford Law School and the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Evan is actively engaged in corporate governance thought leadership, serving as Co-Chair of the Chile California Council, a board member of the Best Practice Principles (BPP) Oversight Committee for Shareholder Voting Research & Analysis, and as Faculty for the Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA)’s BoardReady Institute.
Evan earned his Law degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Masters in Law (LLM) in Corporate Governance and Practice from Stanford Law School. He also studied at Sciences Po as an exchange student in Paris, France.
