Evan Epstein is the founding Executive Director of the Center for Business Law and an Adjunct Professor at UC Law SF.
A recognized corporate governance expert, Evan has advised founders, executives, directors, and investors for over 18 years in Silicon Valley and globally. He has been retained as an expert in corporate governance litigation in the U.S. and abroad, with a particular focus on fiduciary duties of corporate directors. Evan is also the founder and managing partner of Pacifica Global, a corporate governance advisory firm based in San Francisco. Previously, he was the Executive Director of the Arthur and Toni Rembe Rock Center for Corporate Governance, a joint initiative of Stanford Law School and the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Evan is actively engaged in corporate governance thought leadership, serving as Co-Chair of the Chile California Council, a board member of the Best Practice Principles (BPP) Oversight Committee for Shareholder Voting Research & Analysis, and as Faculty for the Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA)’s BoardReady Institute.
He is also the founder and host of the Boardroom Governance Podcast (ranked #1 in its category) and the Boardroom Governance Newsletter. Evan holds a JD (equivalent) from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and an LL.M. in Corporate Governance and Practice from Stanford Law School. He also participated in Sciences Po’s “Cycle du Diplôme” exchange program in Paris, France.
