Malik Jefferson

CBL Scholar Class of 2026

Malik Jefferson is a 1L student at UC Law San Francisco. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, and attended the University of California Berkely where he received a bachelor’s degree in legal studies with an emphasis in economics and monetary policy. Prior to law school, Malik worked as a substitute teacher for the Los Angeles Unified School District, and as a culinary instructor for several years.

As the oldest of four siblings in a low-income family, financial hardship was a regular part of Malik’s childhood. However out of both necessity and passion, these circumstances kindled his strong entrepreneurial spirit. This led him to pursue various business ventures throughout his life to help support himself and his family. Whether it was selling candy in school to help pay bills, teaching private cooking lessons to pay for community college, or working as a freelance event coordinator during undergrad, Malik has always possessed the ability to capitalize on entrepreneurial opportunities. His love and aptitude for entrepreneurship ultimately led him to pursue a career in Business Law, where he plans to work with emerging companies, in the venture capital sector.
